Will the good things that I do count for salvation?

Will the good things that I do count for salvation?

Answer: No amount of your good works can make up for your imperfection before God. Your good works do not justify you. In fact, compared to His righteousness, all your best efforts are like dirty rags. You are saved by the grace of God through faith in the work that Jesus has done for you. Salvation will, however, result in good works as you become more like your heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. This process of becoming more like God and being make holy is called sanctification. Works do not produce salvation, but salvation produces good works.

Kingdom Key: Salvation produces good works.

Scripture: You have been saved by grace through believing. You did not save yourselves; it was a gift from God. It was not the result of your own efforts, so you cannot brag about it. God has made us what we are. In Christ Jesus, God made us to do good works, which God planned in advance for us to live our lives doing (Ephesians 2:8-10).
